Harima Central Park

Located on a hilly area at the foot of Mt. Gobozan, this urban park is surrounded by lush green forests and overflowing with nature. The park is dotted with large and small ponds and hills, and visitors can enjoy the natural scenery.

The rose garden and garden of the four seasons are particularly attractive: the 1.5-hectare rose garden has a fountain in the center, where visitors can enjoy various kinds of roses and flowers of the four seasons. After the rose garden, visitors can continue on to the 17-hectare Garden of the Four Seasons, where they can stroll through different floral landscapes in each area.

There used to be an outdoor stage called the “Takino Lawn Stage,” the largest of its kind in the East, which hosted concerts of famous rock bands and other events.

Major facilities also include a softball field, ball fields, tennis courts, cycle land, rose garden, garden of the four seasons, children’s creek, grass plaza, children’s forest, playground equipment, and a cherry blossom garden (some of these facilities require a fee).

In the Flower Zone, visitors can enjoy the following areas.

- Cherry Blossom Garden: Approximately 1,000 Someiyoshino cherry trees are planted.
- Bulb Garden: 2,500 roses of 95 varieties are planted.
- Garden of the Four Seasons: A garden where visitors can enjoy a variety of plants each season, and Fantasy Road, a tree-lined avenue of rakusyo trees that was used as a filming location for the movie “Fullmetal Alchemist. The scenery is especially beautiful during the season of fresh greenery and autumn leaves.

In the Children’s Forest zone, there is a large slope playground equipment “Kaze no Toride,” Dragon Road, wooden fort, wavy logs, Tarzan ropes, collapsing logs, and long swings.

The Central Square Zone includes the following facilities.

- Outdoor Stage: This is a large outdoor stage with a maximum capacity of approximately 15,000 people. As of May 2022, demolition work is underway.
- Lawn squares: There are three lawn squares with a total area of 3.5 hectares. This is a spacious area where both adults and children can enjoy spreading out their lunch boxes, lounging, running around, and playing. It is one of the park’s most popular spots.
- Children’s Stream: This man-made stream, 160 meters long and 5 to 15 centimeters deep, runs from late March to late November and is ideal for summer water play.

The waterfront zone brings together four of the park’s ten reservoirs.

In addition, the following activities can be enjoyed at the “Fujii Denko Saikurando”.

- Bicycle rides: Visitors can ride on a dedicated, undulating course. More than 200 bicycles are available.

Bicycles are available in sizes ranging from 14 to 27 inches. However, bicycles with auxiliary wheels and training bicycles are not allowed on the course and must be used in the bicycle training area (Chibiko Hiroba). Helmets are provided.
- Interesting Bicycles: There are more than 140 odd bicycles for one to six riders.
- Inline skates: Roller skates with a vertical row of wheels, available in sizes from 18 to 30 cm. Socks are required, and rentals also provide shoes, helmets, and elbow, knee, and instep protectors. You can also bring your own skates.
- Battery cars: These electric rides for toddlers are operated by inserting a 100-yen coin. Prices vary by type and range from 100 yen to 200 yen.

The Nature Walk Zone includes the Commemorative Plaza for the Wedding of His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince.

In the sports zone, there is a softball field, a ball game field (soccer, softball, etc.), and an archery field.
