Hanging above the world-famous Uzushio, this suspension bridge connects the narrowest part of the Naruto Straits between Awaji Island and Tokushima Prefecture.
The bridge is 1,629 meters long, with a center span of 876 meters, a width of 25 meters, and a height of 144.3 meters at the main tower, and was completed over a period of nine years.
The bridge is illuminated during the Awaodori dance festival and on the anniversary of the earthquake.
The magnificent sight of the Uzushio and Onaruto Bridge can be viewed from Uzumi-no-Michi, Naruto Park, Awaji Island South Parking Area, Roadside Station Uzushio, and the Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum.
